On Saturday, March 2, 2013, the Morrison Junior High wrestling squad competed in the IESA Sectionals in DeKalb, IL.  Like the high school, the junior high competes in the toughest Sectional in the State, with many of the State's perennial powerhouses:  DeKalb Rossette, DeKalb Huntley, and Sterling Challand.

Coach Jamie Rodriguez knew going into the tournament the boys needed to be ready, and ready they were.  Right out of the gate the Colt wrestlers were on the attack.  They did not slow down as the tournament progressed. 

The Colts finished the day in 3rd place as a team --the best team finish in school history--surpassing last week's Regional Champions, Sterling Challand!

When the dust settled from the day's whirlwind the Colts had qualified eight to State, of nine young men who started the day.

Taking home medals and qualifying for next weekend's IESA StateFinals were

• James Thulan.
