Martina Maxfield is a native of Germany and a resident of Morrison for more than a   decade. She has enjoyed the practice of hatha yoga over the past ten years.

In 2003 she received her teaching certification from the Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago. It is one of the earliest and most experienced teacher training programs in the country.

With today’s ever-increasing pace--meeting the demands of daily life--it is all too easy to turn into a human doing. However, in the yoga classes Martina likes to remember the simple beauty of our nature as human beings.
You Don’t Need To Be Flexible To Do Yoga

Enjoy 1 1/2 hours of yoga in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Learn the practice of yoga to gain knowledge of body-and breath-awareness. Learn to release tension. Refresh & revitalize mind and body.

Hatha yoga consists of physical conditioning to obtain greater body flexibility and strength and relaxation to restore the body’s energy, combined with breath work and meditation to focus and still the mind. The word yoga can be translated as integration or bringing into balance of body, mind and breath.

The Classes

Beginning/Continuing classes offer you the foundations of yoga poses (asanas), breath work, and a basic variety of practices.

Restorative is open to anybody seeking deep relaxation of mind and body through supported, non-muscular yoga poses. Leave this class renewed and refreshed!

All classes are designed to meet individual levels of ability and comfort in a non-competitive and non-judgmental environment.

Well-being as part of daily life
  • Small class sizes allow for individual attention.
  • Well-equipped room offers comfort and accessibility of the different yoga poses.
  • Variety of props, such as mats, blankets, blocks, straps, and chairs.
  • All you need is some comfortable clothes to wear.
