Barb Benson
I am new
to Morrison. I've only lived here 26 years. I came to Morrison from Warren,
Illinois, to study Mechanical Drafting at M.I.T. While here I met my husband,
Phil, who owns Morrison Machine Shop. After I graduated from M.I.T., I became
"Phil's Wife" or "Mrs. Phil" and worked at National
Manufacturing in Sterling. Then after becoming "Heidi's and Brad's
Mom" I retired to help my husband and became a housewife. Most recently,
I worked in the High School Library as an assistant known to the kids as
"Mrs. Benson".
With the recent budget cuts, I could have been known as a "volunteer" but decided to take a new and natural direction by becoming the "Feature Editor" here at The City 1. My hobby has always been photography, so picture-taking is an aspect of this I'll really love. Writing is something I have to work at, so everyone will have to bare with me for awhile. I'm also working with Bob on the rebar side as he trains me to become an estimator.
I'm looking forward to working with the community, keeping the web site new and interesting, and hearing from all of you.
