Morrison Police Reports 05-05-08

Morrison Police were called to a report of a utility pole that had been struck on April 28, 2008 at approximately 11:20 a.m. The pole was possibly struck by a semi-tractor trailer in the 600 block of West Lincolnway. The eastbound vehicle went over the curb, striking the pole. The pole will have to be replaced. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to call the Morrison Police Department at 815-772-7659.

Rajendra C. Patel, Morrison, reported on April 28, 2008 at approximately 2 p.m. that someone had painted obscenities on the north side of the Parkview Motel. Patel also reported that holes had been punched in the same walls. There is no damage estimate currently available. The damages occurred some time during the previous weekend.

Morrison Police arrested Raymond N. King, Jr., 21, Madison, WI on May 1, 2008 at approximately 2:21 p.m. on charges of driving while license revoked and possession of cannabis, less than 2.5 grams. King was charged after the vehicle he was driving was stopped at the intersection of Bartlett Street and East Main Street. King was transported to the Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center where he was later released on $100 cash bond. King is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Morrison Police charged Fernando Mota, 25, Pingree Grove, IL on May 3, 2008, with failure to give information after striking an unattended vehicle or property. Mota was charged after the Morrison Police Department completed an investigation of a crash between a vehicle and a street-light pole at the intersection of Base and Main Streets. The collision occurred during the early morning hours of April 11.
Mota was issued a notice to appear in court. Mota is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
