| The Whiteside County Prescott Dental Clinic
The Prescott Dental Clinic, 1308 W. Second St., Rock Falls, provides dental services for children and adults. Founded in 1997 by the Whiteside County Health Department, the clinic moved into its own facility earlier this spring with two dentists and several dental assistants seeing patients Monday through Friday by appointment. Presently the dental clinic is a part of the newly funded Community Health Center and as such follows federal rules and regulations. The dentists, one full-time and one part-time, are able to do dental check-ups, fillings, extractions and preventative care. Currently no services are available for braces, dentures and bridges. Patients with medical cards and insurance are accepted for treatment, and the dentists will see low income patients who are charged on a sliding fee scale.
Parents are encouraged to teach their children proper dental hygiene they can continue throughout their life. Brushing three times a day and flossing one time a day is a good way to help maintain a healthy mouth for both children and adults. It also is a way to have a less “painful” experience in the dentist chair.
The dental staff would like parents to take the time to make your child’s dental experience a positive one by explaining the procedures and not making false promises like “it won’t hurt.”
To make an appointment, please call the Whiteside County Health Department at 626-2230 and ask for the dental clinic.
