Seahorses Break Conference Record

On Saturday, March 16, 2013, 24 Seahorses traveled to Freeport, IL, Middle School to compete in the Winter Stateline Conference Meet.  The Conference is made up of Illinois teams from Morrison, Sterling, Freeport, Byron, and Rockford.  The Seahorses ended the winter season on a strong note, with 45 top-six finishes. 

The Seahorse 8 and Under Girls Relay Team also broke the 100 Freestyle Relay Conference Record that was set back in 2005 by Freeport.  Landri Harmon, Malerie Workman, BayLeigh Brewer, and Kate Henson worked together to swim a 1:12.31, which broke the 2005 record by four seconds!  Congratulations to the 8 and Under Girls Relay Team!

Little League Opening Day

Morrison Little League (MLL) board member Trent Bush stated, "We are very happy to bring back this traditional kickoff to the youth baseball season and believe it will be a fun event, for not only players and their families, but the general public."

MLL invites players, families, and the public to attend its Opening Day Celebration on Friday, May 3, 2013, at the Morrison Sports Complex.  Mayor Roger Drew and Mayor-Elect R. Everett Pannier will be a first-pitch combo at the event.

Fillies in Five

The second game of a doubleheater at Kewanee ended liike the first, with the Morrison Fillies leading by over ten runs after five innings to end the game on the mercy rule.

Wednesday, April 24th was a great night to play softball and the Morrison Fillies took full advantage of the weather and extended their conference record to 7-0 with a 24-8 win at Kewanee.
