Members of the "Unnamed Youth Group of Grace and Peace" will be making and selling submarine sandwiches that will be ready for pick-up or delivery on Super Bowl Sunday, February 3, 2013. The Youth Group includes members of United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church, both in Morrison, IL.

Higher commodity prices, weather extremes, and increasing input costs challenged beef producers in 2012.
On Tuesday, January 8, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., producers will have the opportunity to attend a meeting on "Overcoming the Challenges of 2012." The meeting will be held at Sauk Valley Community College outside of Dixon, IL. It will feature a diverse set of topics, including cow feeding strategies, sire selection, feedlot management, pasture care, and herd health tips.

The Clinton Area Showboat Theatre’s producing Artistic Director, Tommy Iafrate, has announced local auditions for the 2013 Summer Season. Auditions will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Ashford University’s Mullany Theatre, 400 N. Bluff Boulevard, Clinton, IA, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. There are roles available for performers of all ages, including children. No appointment is needed.
