Fresh/Soph Fillies down the Missiles

On April 13 the Fresh/Soph Fillies traveled to Milledgeville to battle the Missiles. Kate Tenboer took the plate and Alene Vandermyde did the catching responsibilities.

The Fillies jumped to an early lead in the first when Abby Vock singled. Followed by Heather Andersen who singled Vock in. Jen Bush singled as did Natasha Nelson. Andrea Vegter followed with a two RBI single.

The Morrison bats fell silent until the top of the sixth when Alene Vandermyde led off with a double that rattled the Missile defense. Callie Bush walked, Andersen doubled in Vandermyde, Jennifer Bush singled in Callie and Andersen. That was the end of the scoring for the night for the Fillies.

The stingy Morrison defense allowed one run to make the final score 6-1. Kate Tenboer notched 12 strikeouts in her 7 inning appearance.
