Bomb Threat at Morrison Junior High School

A bomb threat was reported to the Morrison Junior High Principal at 7:45 this morning, April 1, 2009. The threat was found in the form of a note written in the girls bathroom stall. The police were immediately notified and arrived on scene about 7:55. Per the police request, the building was evacuated and cleared before the school day began. The building was searched and found secure, and students entered about 8:25 to resume normal activity.

When students were settled in their rooms, an announcement was made providing details of the delayed start. Counselors immediately began talking with students to reassure them. The police department has remained on site and will continue to provide security until the matter is resolved.

Together the Morrison School District, Morrison Junior High, and the Morrison Police Department have taken this matter seriously. The case is being fully investigated by the police and the school district.

Please know that the children's safety is their greatest concern, and every step is being taken to provide a safe learning environment.
