Editor’s note: Visit The Carpet House, Inc. to see flooring and tile options in Morrison, IL, and to congratulate an enduring local business. Do the same at Fitzgerald Pharmacy.
Three generations of Houses celebrated the long-time, Morrison, IL, family flooring business’s expansion and new location, on Saturday, October 3, 2026. Owners Jerry and Carole House hosted the public to a celebratory Open House from 9:00 a.m. until noon, at 502 E. Lincolnway.
The gathering shows Houses and two sons-in-law. Left-to-right in the front row are granddaughter Maren House; her mother, daughter Anne House; owner Carole House; daughter Stephanie Shelton; daughter Jenn Farmer. Behind are owner Jerry House; Anne’s son, grandson Kiptyn House; Stephanie’s husband, Joshua Shelton; Jenn’s husband, Todd Farmer.
Jerry stated, he was very pleased with the move. “I wish this had happened 20 years ago!” His office walls hold prints of dogs. So, the nine-week-old, affable, German Shepherd puppy, “Dakota,” fits the scene.
The Carpet House, Inc. now offers open spaces between displays; natural light along two walls; safe parking with no backing. As in the past location, there are numerous samples of carpet; tiles and stone; laminate; hardwood and engineered wood; vinyl flooring.
