Mary Lee Cecil, 88, of Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at her home.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., on Friday, October 9, 2026, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

Her Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Rich Criss, Ministry Coordinator of Emmanual Church in Morrison, IL, officiating.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Private Interment will take place at Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, IL.

A memorial has been established by the family.

Mary Lee was born October 19, 1937, in Clinton, IA, the daughter of Leland “Chris” and Mary Alice (Bush) Kane.  She was educated in the Fulton, IL, Grade Schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School.  She married Michael Cecil in Lake Tahoe, NV.  He died January 2, 2009.  Mary Lee began her working career at GE in Morrison, IL.  She later worked for Drives in Fulton before moving to California, where she became the Office Manager and Bookkeeper for Hendrickson Trucking, a position she held for many years.  Mary Lee treasured her friendships and always made time for outings and get-togethers with those she cared about.  She especially enjoyed following her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and their various activities and involvements.  Mary Lee was also a true sports fanatic!  She loved Baseball, Basketball, Football, NASCAR, and Golf—really, just about any sport she could watch!

Survivors include her daughters, Michelle (Craig) Gerald of Corona, CA and Melinda Vegter of Fulton; son, Mike (Kelly) Vegter of Morrison; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Brenda Hesser of Weeki Wachee, FL, Candi (Chuck) Bubert of St. Augustine, FL, and Deb (John) Hauptman of Morrison; brother, Steven (Tricia) Kane of Fulton; sister-in-law, Ginny Kane of Circleville, OH; brother-in-law, John Vegter of Morrison.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Kathe Vegter; brother, Richard Kane; brother-in-law, Charles Hesser.
